Civil Courts Division

The Civil Courts Division consists of the following departments:

Official Court Records On-Line - On-line records search of Official Court
Records.

Circuit Civil - The Circuit Civil Department handles all cases which involve monetary judgment in excess of $15,000, declaratory judgments, foreclosures of mortgages, negligence, professional malpractice and other civil matters.

County Civil/Small Claims - This department handles cases for monetary judgments from $5,000.01 up to $14,999 and landlord/tenant cases. It is also responsible for assisting citizens in filing a small claims action by providing the necessary forms, instructional materials and references on the small claims process. Small Claims is from $0 - $5,000

Domestic Relations - The Domestic Relations Department handles all matters of dissolution of marriage, injunctions for protection, delayed birth certificates, and receipt of child support and alimony as required by the courts.

Probate, Guardianship & Mental Health - This department maintains the court records of the estates of deceased persons, maintains court records of the appointments of guardianships of certain minors and incapacitated persons and maintains the records of all persons committed to mental institutions or mental health facilities involving mental disorders, drugs and alcohol abuse.
